HbA1c(Glycated Hemoglobin A1c) is the binding product of hemoglobin and glucose in red blood cells. The ratio of glycated hemoglobin depends on the concentration of blood glucose, the contact time between blood glucose and hemoglobin, and the survival time of red blood cells, that is to say, the higher the blood glucose, the longer the contact time, the greater the HbA1c ratio. The average life span of red blood cells is 120 days. Therefore, glycosylated hemoglobin can reflect the average blood sugar level of diabetic patients in the past 2-3 months.
