C- reactive protein (CRP) is an acute phase protein. When inflammation or tissue is destroyed, CRP has a faster induction time, a shorter half-life, a larger range of changes, and catabolism is not affected by the type of infection. It is one of the acute phase proteins that are relatively easy to measure. The laboratory can use CRP as a prompt indicator of systemic inflammatory diseases. CRP can be used to diagnose a variety of inflammatory diseases, such as: severe acute pancreatitis, acute appendicitis, meningitis, aspiration pneumonia, osteomyelitis, osteoarthritis, giant cell arthritis, neonatal sepsis, acute rhinitis, acute otitis media, etc., but also for extensive trauma, burns, postoperative bacterial syndrome and acute myocardial infarction and other diseases.

CRP antigen
